keychains, watches & co.

due to the big success of nintendos handheld games a lot of licensed products like the wristwatches were produced and still today you can buy the old games in a new shape. a lot of classic widescreen and multiscreen titles were re-released as keychain games - socalled mini classics.

game watches

the game watches shown on the pictures were distributed by em - entertainment münchen. mario 4 comes with earphones! there was also a tetris watch available and i think that i once saw a mario kart watch, but i'm not sure about this. they were sold for about 20-25 euro.

mini classics

in germany and austria the mini classics were distributed by stadlbauer (already distributed the original game & watches in austria in the eighties). real classics like fire, parachute and octopus with one screen (10 euro) and donkey kong with two screens (15 euro) were re-released and a few new titles like the smurfs and star trek were introduced in the late nineties and later.

pokemon mini

this has actually nothing to do with game&watch but pokemon mini, the smallest handheld with interchangeable game paks, is somehow a further development of nintendos first lcd handhelds. this handheld was not very successful and only four different games were sold in europe. it came out for 49,95 euro (pokemon mini with one game) but because of the small demand there was an early selling off.
